Job Description
General Statement of Duties The Staff Accountant position is responsible for supporting the accounting operations of the organization by creating journal entries, maintaining accounting records, and following a set of controls designed to mitigate risk and ensure reported results comply with GAAP. The Staff Accountant will adhere to deadlines and complete tasks with a high degree of detail and accuracy. Essential Job Functions Reconciliation of monthly bank statements Maintain fixed assets and book journal entries Maintain prepaid expenses and book journal entries Complete assigned balance sheet account reconciliations Maintain and reconcile other supporting schedules and ledgers as assigned Assist with month end reporting Assist with the preparation of 990 tax return, Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, and financial statement audits Other accounting functions as assigned Job Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or another related field Previous experience as a Staff Accountant, Accounting Clerk, Accounting Assistant, or another related role Demonstrated advanced competence with Microsoft Excel and an enterprise level general ledger application Attention to detail with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects Previous experience as Staff Accountant in Senior Living preferred.
