Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Staff Registered Nurse, where your expertise will drive exceptional patient care across diverse clinical settings. Duties Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA regulations, aseptic techniques, and medication administration protocols. Manage complex clinical procedures including IV infusion, catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, ventilator management, and ostomy care. Coordinate diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, radiology (including CT scans), sonography, and medical imaging to support accurate diagnoses. Provide acute pain management, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health support for diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal ventilator patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Lead patient education initiatives on health coaching, discharge planning, medication adherence, and chronic disease management aligned with NCQA standards. Ensure meticulous medical documentation of patient care activities while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10). Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine units such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), trauma centers (Level I & II), surgical units including OR experience and ambulatory surgery centers. Support infection control practices and participate in quality improvement initiatives to uphold safety standards across inpatient and outpatient settings. Qualifications Valid RN license with current registration; additional certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS or PALS preferred for specialized units. Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Center; hospital experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is essential. Extensive clinical skills including IV insertion, phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, sterile processing techniques, and airway management. Experience working with diverse populations including long-term care residents in nursing homes or assisted living facilities; familiarity with geriatrics and dementia/dementia care is advantageous. Knowledge of occupational health protocols, infectious disease control measures, trauma medicine procedures such as spinal tap or gastric lavage. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms or urgent care clinics; triage experience is highly valued. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology concepts and the ability to perform physical examinations confidently.
