About the Opportunity The Staff Software Engineer, Cash App Banking will lead the technical strategy for the banking server engineering team. This role involves guiding architectural decisions and infrastructure improvements to build scalable, robust systems. The position also includes mentoring engineers to broaden their impact and driving cross-team collaboration to align technical efforts. The work performed will influence the development of banking products at scale, shaping the future of consumer banking. Responsibilities Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and business leaders to develop and implement technical strategies benefiting the banking organization. Influence leadership across the organization to ensure sound and efficient technical decisions. Contribute to system designs and maintain hands-on involvement with coding. Maintain high engineering standards for self and teammates. Mentor and coach engineers to expand their technical skills and influence. Integrate an AI-first approach to elevate AI applications within the team and organization. Requirements 12+ years of software development or equivalent experience. 3+ years leading large-scale feature delivery, including planning, management, and execution with high quality standards. Experience identifying and implementing globally optimal solutions in complex systems. Strong problem-solving skills with creativity in technical design. Proven ability to support and grow engineers’ skills. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field. Compensation & Benefits Compensation Pay Range: $263,600—$395,400 USD (applicable across Zones A, B, C, and D).
