Job Description
Location: Chicago, IL (On-site) About The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Chicago-based team and help redefine how digital creators and their audiences engage in the sports entertainment and analytics space. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role where you will work directly with our founding team to architect and ship end-to-end features for a platform used by millions. If you thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment and are passionate about building "AI-first," consumer-facing products that drive immediate user value, this is the place for you. Responsibilities Collaborate with executive leadership and go-to-market teams to translate product vision into high-performance technical roadmaps. Lead the full-stack design and deployment of new features across web and mobile platforms. Maintain a rigorous balance between rapid feature delivery and long-term architectural scalability. Serve as a technical mentor and lead for the engineering team, providing guidance on best practices and system design. Partner with design and business stakeholders to ensure a seamless, intuitive experience for our community of users and creators. Take full ownership of the development lifecycle, from initial scoping to production monitoring and optimization. Requirements (Must-have) 6–10+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong background in high-growth startup environments. Proven expertise in shipping full-stack product features that impact a large-scale consumer user base. Strong Technical Judgment: Demonstrated ability to make pragmatic decisions on when to optimize, when to refactor, and how to manage technical debt. Chicago-Based: Ability to work in-person at our Chicago hub alongside the CEO and core leadership. Communication: Exceptional ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teammates. Craftsmanship: A passion for building elegant, "AI-first" solutions that emphasize speed, quality, and user delight. Preferred Qualifications Experience building and scaling digital marketplaces or fintech platforms. A background in consumer-facing products with high daily engagement. Familiarity with our core tech stack: Python (Django), Go, PostgreSQL, TypeScript (Svelte), and React Native. Experience with Docker, Terraform, and GitHub Actions for infrastructure and CI/CD management. Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary and meaningful equity ownership. Comprehensive benefits package. Opportunity to lead in a senior IC capacity within a culturally significant and rapidly evolving industry. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of any status protected under federal, state, or local law.
