🇺🇸 We're hiring Founding State Organizers — Humans in Control (NH or IA) AI companies are shipping products that affect kids, families, livelihoods, and communities — with little accountability. Who's making sure people have a say? Humans in Control is a nonpartisan nonprofit building a grassroots movement to keep people in control of AI's future. We're a new organization building our team, and we're hiring State Organizers to lead on-the-ground efforts in NH and IA. This is a build-from-scratch role. You'll own your state — standing up the entire grassroots operation yourself, from first contact to volunteer leadership pipeline. You need to be someone who can show up, start knocking on doors, and build something real. What you'll do: Recruit and develop local volunteer leaders from the ground up Build relationships with faith communities, veterans, parents, local businesses, and civic groups Run issue campaigns and organize town halls, canvasses, and community events Who we're looking for: 2+ years grassroots or field organizing experience Comfortable working across political lines High-ownership, independent operator: you spot opportunities and act on them Genuine concern about protecting jobs, families, and communities, and making sure we don't lose control of advanced systems Salary: $60K–$90K (commensurate with experience) + benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO) Role is remote within the state, but organizers are expected to live in NH or IA, with regular in-state travel.
