Job Description
US Aviation Academy is seeking day STEM Aviation Maintenance Instructor for their General Aviation classes. Instructors teach groups of up to 25 students the principals of math, fundamentals of dc/ac electricity, aircraft drawings and physics required for the FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification. We are seeking a candidate that encourages curiosity and critical thinking. Hands-on and practical experience with electricity, mechanical devices, or aviation is strongly preferred. Subjects taught include Applied Mathematics - fractions, decimals, ratios and proportions, percentages, sign numbers, basic geometry, etc Physics - matter, fluid dynamics, atmospheric properties, machines, work, power, energy, motion, heat and temperature and sound as they apply to an aircraft Dc/Ac Electricity Fundamentals of magnetism & electricity Use of electrical measuring instruments and basic troubleshooting procedures Technical Drawings in relation to drawings of aircraft parts and repairs to aircraft parts US Aviation Academy starts new classes each month. During periods between classes, duties may include assisting other instructors with grading and project setup. Preferred qualifications include High School STEM courses, hands-on mechanical experience, or aviation interest.
