Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Sterile Processing Technician Instructor, where your expertise ensures the safety and well-being of patients through meticulous sterilization and preparation of medical instruments. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sterilization, and inventory management to support surgical and clinical procedures. Responsibilities Thoroughly clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment using approved techniques and sterilization equipment. Inspect instruments for damage or wear, ensuring all items meet quality standards before use. Properly package and label sterilized items according to established protocols to maintain sterility during storage and transport. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, track usage, and reorder supplies proactively to prevent shortages. Adhere strictly to infection control policies, aseptic techniques, and safety procedures during all processing activities. Document sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory transactions accurately in designated records. Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for procedures. Requirements Proven experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to understand the proper handling of various medical instruments. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures and instrument identification. Proficiency in inventory management systems to track supplies efficiently. Demonstrated understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Ability to operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers safely and effectively.
