Job Description
Sterile Processing Technician – Per Diem (Variable Shift) Location: Anacortes, WA Schedule: 0.1 FTE / Per Diem | Monday–Friday | Variable Shifts with On-Call Coverage Salary Range: $21.30 – $31.64 / per hour Differentials: Nights – $2.25 per hour Evenings – $1.65 per hour Weekends – $1.50 per hour Be the Unsung Hero Behind Every Safe Surgery At Island Health , every procedure depends on precision — and that begins with you. What You’ll Do Decontaminate, clean, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays Operate autoclaves, washer-sterilizers, and related equipment Maintain daily sterilization records and quality controls Restock and manage instrument inventory for continuous patient care Support clinical teams during urgent or emergency needs Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques, infection-prevention standards, and hospital policy What You Bring High School Diploma or equivalent required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Formal or on-the-job training as a Central Service or Sterile Processing Technician (30 days – 3 months) Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in a clinical environment Join Our Award-Winning Team If you’re dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting patient care behind the scenes, we want to meet you.
