Stock/Delivery Clerk II Stanislaus County, CA Modesto, California United States Posted:Jan 29, 2026 Salary:$20.08 - $24.40 Hourly USD Full Time Clerical and Administrative Support About the Opportunity THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate for this position is an individual with willingness to be part of a team, have the ability to work under pressure, deliver and pick up items in a safe, timely manner, and remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult people THE POSITION Stock/Delivery Clerks drive County-owned vehicles for the purpose of transporting materials to and from destinations related to County business or services.They also perform other related duties as required.In addition, under direct supervision, they receive, store, and issue supplies, equipment, and a variety of materials used by the various Senior Meal sites and perform related duties as required.Accurate record keeping and reporting is crucial for this role.Part-time extra-help is a provisional classification where permanent status may not be obtained.This position is subject to overtime, standby, shift, and callback assignments and will perform related duties as assigned.This position is non-benefited except for participation in a 401a program with Nationwide.The Job Task Analysis provides information detailing the physical and functional demands of the classification.For the complete job task analysis, visit the Risk Management website at http://www.stancounty.com/riskmgmt/ under the Disability tab.Typical Tasks Receive and deliver supplies and equipment;Stock shelves;Input data into database when orders are received and delivered;Drive within Stanislaus County on a routine basis;Compose routine correspondence;Issue supplies as requested by County departments by filling supply requisitions;Assemble and package supplies in preparation for delivery;May keep simple records used in cataloging stock received, filling requisitions, etc.;Assist in periodic supply inventories;Issue supplies as requested by County departments by filling supply requisitions;Make arrangements for transportation;Coordinate pick-up and delivery with established or modified time schedules;Maintain log mileage records for all trips in County vehicles, indicating purpose for trip;Perform general clerical duties as assigned;Transport supplies to appropriate destinations (Senior Meal sites);Load and unload incoming and outgoing supplies;Establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels of internal and external customers;Manage inventory forms, re-order forms, and fulfill orders;Meet deadlines and specific time frames; and Attend recommended and mandatory safety training regarding vehicles and driving such as defensive driver:andPerform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education/Experience) SKILLS/ABILITIES Operate a motor vehicle with skill and safety;Work cooperatively with employees and the general public;Meet scheduled commitments;Keep accurate records;Perform mathematical functions consistent with job assignment;Perform clerical tasks pertaining to stock record keeping such as filing, posting records, answering phones, etc.;Follow oral and written instructions;Lift, bend, stoop, walk on uneven terrain, run, and reach overhead;Push, pull, squat, twist, and turn;Work independently and exercise common sense and sound judgment in performance of duties;Lift/carry supplies weighing a maximum of fifty (50) pounds;Deal tactfully and courteously with those contacted in the course of work; andRead, write, and speak effectively.KNOWLEDGE Traffic rules, regulations and laws;Warehouse, storage, inventory, operations; and perpetual inventory system; and Record keeping.We recognize your time is valuable, please only apply if you meet the following required qualifications.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Graduation from high school or have a General Education Diploma (GED).LICENSE Applicants must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License and remain free from repeated preventable accidents.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS In addition to the minimum qualifications, applicant screening will focus on the following desirable qualifications.Please list any of these qualifications you may have within the Duties section of the online application.Two (2) years of experience in a volunteer or paid capacity working with older adults.Application and Selection Procedures APPLICATION PROCEDURES/FINAL FILING DATE Applications cannot be submitted later than 5:00 p.m.on the final filing date.Make your online application as complete as possible so a full and realistic appraisal may be made of your qualifications.Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of a completed application.Attaching your resume and cover letter are an optional feature for those who wish to do so in addition to completing the required application.Information on your resume and cover letter will not substitute for the education, work experience and required fi
