Our client, a fast-growing AI marketing software startup, is hiring a Strategic Engagement Manager to join their brand-new internal services function — essentially a mini SEO/AEO agency embedded within the company. You'll work directly with enterprise customers to build and execute search strategies, while also partnering with sales to win new business. This is a high-visibility, founding-team opportunity at a hyper-growth startup that 5x'd revenue last year. You'll have real ownership in shaping how this new services function operates as the company scales. What You'll Do Embed with enterprise customers to build and deliver SEO and AEO roadmaps, content audits, keyword strategies, and content workflows end-to-end. Partner with Account Executives on pre-sales motions — auditing prospect domains, preparing recommendations, and serving as the subject matter expert in strategic sales calls. Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously , running stakeholder calls and driving clear weekly outputs. Shape and build this new services function from the ground up — defining processes, capacity models, and best practices as the team scales. Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior client stakeholders (up to CMO level) with credibility and polish. What You Bring Required: 5–12 years of experience in enterprise SEO strategy, delivering client-facing work at agencies or in-house. Deep, hands-on enterprise SEO experience — able to independently run audits, build roadmaps, and set keyword strategy (not just advise on it). Owned client-facing deliverables end-to-end with enterprise marketing teams, shipping real outputs on timelines. Exceptional client-facing communication and presence — comfortable presenting to senior leadership and managing enterprise stakeholders. Startup energy and self-starter mentality — thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and goes above and beyond without heavy direction. Actively using modern SEO/AEO tools and data sources in everyday workflow; genuine enthusiasm for AEO and the AI search landscape. Two Profiles We're Considering: Head of SEO/AEO at a high-growth startup or respected agency; built SEO strategy 0-to-1; 10+ years experience. Senior SEO strategist at an agency serving enterprise clients (marketplace, fintech/insurance verticals preferred); 5–8 years experience. Preferred: Agency experience working with large enterprise accounts (in-house experience at a high-growth startup also works if you've built strategies from 0 to 1). Experience with AEO/GEO (AI Engine Optimization) programs. Ability to present credibly to CMO-level stakeholders while also collaborating hands-on with IC practitioners.
