Job Description
We are seeking a Strategic IT Consultant to serve as a trusted technology advisor for healthcare clients within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment. This role is ideal for a technically well-rounded professional who can assess client infrastructure, identify operational and security gaps, and develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align IT strategy with business objectives. This is a highly client-facing consulting role focused on technology planning, infrastructure discovery, and strategic guidance rather than day-to-day hands-on engineering or implementation work. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive discovery and assessment of client IT environments, including infrastructure, networking, systems, security, cloud platforms, and operational workflows Analyze current technology environments to identify risks, inefficiencies, scalability concerns, and modernization opportunities Develop strategic technology roadmaps outlining 1–3 year recommendations for infrastructure improvements, upgrades, security enhancements, and operational best practices Serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare clients, translating technical findings into business-focused recommendations Collaborate with internal engineering and project teams to ensure strategic initiatives are properly documented and prioritized Lead client onboarding assessments and help guide successful transitions into the MSP environment Maintain strong client relationships through ongoing strategic reviews and technology planning sessions Stay informed on emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and healthcare IT best practices Qualifications 5+ years of experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment Direct experience supporting healthcare clients within an MSP setting Proven experience onboarding clients into an MSP environment Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, virtualization, Microsoft environments, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, backup/disaster recovery, and end-user systems Ability to conduct high-level technical discovery and assess complex IT environments across multiple technology domains Strong communication and consulting skills with the ability to present technical recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience developing strategic IT roadmaps, technology recommendations, or long-term infrastructure planning initiatives Familiarity with Microsoft Azure environments preferred Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA is preferred Technical certifications are a plus, but not required
