Job Description
Role overview: \We are seeking a highly proactive and self-motivated Strategy and Growth Associate to support the Director of Strategy and Growth, North America, in establishing and expanding MJV’s presence in Chicago. This part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of a new office from the ground up, gain hands-on experience in business development, strategy, and market intelligence, and make a tangible impact on MJV’s success in the region. The ideal candidate is eager to pursue clients, secure meetings, and drive results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position has the potential to transition into a full-time role with MJV USA, offering a pathway for career growth within our organization. Key responsabilities: \Prospect Outreach and Scheduling [Top Priority]: Actively pursue clients by scheduling meetings with prospective clients, managing the Director’s calendar, and coordinating follow-ups to ensure seamless communication and relationship-building. \Business Development Support: Proactively identify and research high-potential prospects for MJV’s services, including corporations, startups, and other organizations in need of strategy, innovation, or transformation consulting. \Strategy and Growth Initiatives: Collaborate with the Director to develop and execute strategies for client acquisition, market penetration, and brand awareness in Chicago. \Market Intelligence: Conduct thorough research on the Chicago market, including industry trends, competitor analysis, and emerging opportunities, to inform strategic decisions. \Event and Networking Support: Identify relevant industry events, conferences, or networking opportunities in Chicago and assist in planning MJV’s participation.\ Idea Generation: Bring fresh, creative ideas for business development, marketing campaigns, and innovative approaches to attract and retain clients. \CRM Management: Maintain and update client and prospect information in MJV’s CRM system to ensure accurate tracking of leads and opportunities. \Content Support: Assist in creating presentations, proposals, and other materials to pitch MJV’s services to potential clients. Qualifications: \Education: Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program, including MBA, Law (with an interest in business development), dual-degree programs in Law and MBA, or dual-degree programs in MBA and Strategic Design, or second-year or higher students currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s of Business Administration (BBA). \Skills: Exceptional proactivity and self-motivation, with a strong drive to pursue clients and secure meetings. Strong research and analytical skills to gather and synthesize market intelligence. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for confident prospect outreach and internal collaboration. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) is a plus. Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to contribute innovative ideas. Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectivelly \Experience: Prior experience in business development, sales, marketing, or strategy is a plus but not required. \Attributes: Eager and tenacious in going after clients and scheduling meetings to drive business growth. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities. Passion for learning and contributing to the growth of a new office. \Availability: Ability to commit to 20-30 hours per week and work in a hybrid or in-office setting in Chicago (flexibility to be discussed).
