Job Description
Position Summary Under the general direction/supervision of the Athletic Director and Executive Director, assumes responsibility for planning and administering specified sports programs and related activities, including coaching an athletic team and performing other duties directly related to this position description. Duties & Responsibilities Provide coordination and supervision of the sports program and team. Help students achieve gains in athletic skill and team performance. Designs a training program and game program. Organizes and supervises the coaching staff to ensure that the program is properly implemented Develops team rules, communicating them to the players and their parents, and equitably enforces them. Ensures that student athletes meet eligibility rules. Ensure that student athletes adhere to training rules, lettering policies, grade requirements, and rules of behavior. Ensure the continual supervision of student athletes on the field, in conditioning, and in locker and shower rooms. Ensure that health and safety precautions are observed during all activities. Immediately report all major injuries incurred during practice sessions or competition to the Athletic Director and Principal. Assist in the proper purchasing, inventory, and care of equipment. See that district policies are observed during all activities. Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas, and techniques. Obtain advance approval of the Athletic Director and/or Principal for all activities and expenditures. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Principal. Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a working as athletic coach in an academic setting is preferred Special Skills NFHS and Concussion certified required
