Job Description Join the BAE Systems' team and help shape National Security as a member of the Infrastructure Management Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, extensive project experience, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment. The Role The Structural Engineer performs one or more of the following functions: Perform project engineering as part of a multi-disciplinary team to plan, design, construct, and sustain facilities and supporting infrastructure Provide recommendations on construction materials and methods, create engineering estimates, write specifications and scopes of work, create and supervise the preparation/validation of structural and architectural drawings, control cost, and manage work to meet project schedules Perform structural design and analysis for steel buildings, reinforced concrete buildings and other structures, pipe supports, and foundation systems. May conduct inspections of existing facilities such as buildings, tank farms, roads, railroads, pipe bridges, and pipelines to determine the integrity and safety of the structure Make recommendations concerning any needed modifications or repairs Determine root cause of structural or system failures and recommend corrective action Oversee mapping and surveying functions which involve layout of facilities and maintenance of records of site plans, above and below ground structures, and above-ground and underground utilities Provide technical oversight during construction including shop drawing review and approval, ensure construction is in accordance with plans, specifications, and good construction practices Consider safety in all aspects of design and construction Location Why Utah? Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering 7 yrs technical experience 5yrs with MS) in industrial design and construction, with an emphasis in structural engineering Working knowledge of CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit) for efficient production of engineering work Proficient in Analysis and using Analysis Tools (STAAD/RAM structural Systems, RAM Elements or RISA 3D) Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC Ability to direct design teams and external design firms, review and approve design packages from equipment suppliers and design firms providing constructability input. Capable of creating required engineering documentation using Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Access. Must be able to obtain Secret (or higher) security clearance Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Professional Engineer License Skilled in principles of project management Experience in the design and construction of chemical facilities that involve the use of acids and solvents in the production of energetic materials Assessment of existing Concrete and rehabilitation and repair Active Secret clearance, Ability to obtain Top Secret Facility Management, Construction Management or Construction E
