Job Description
TITLE: STUDENT INFORMATION SPECIALIST - DATA SUPPORT Qualifications: ? Required minimum of three years of hands-on experience in data processing, specifically within a school environment or a high-volume business data setting. ? Required proven experience operating and troubleshooting modern Student Information Systems (SIS) and managing cloud-based data repositories. ? Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, or related is preferred. ? Demonstrated experience in Database Management and the maintenance of relational data structures. ? Broad technical understanding of instructional cloud-based applications, online services, and the backend requirements for technology integration. ? Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to work independently and execute technical tasks under strict district deadlines ? Excellent communication skills to provide technical support and collaborate with both technical and non-technical staff members. ? Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status. Reports to: Director of Technology Job Goal: Under the general direction of the Director of Technology, the Student Information Specialist performs technical tasks to maintain, configure, and support the district's student data systems and related integrations. Performance Responsibilities: ? Performs the technical support, maintenance, and daily configuration of the Student Information System (SIS), Food Services System, and various other student-facing data platforms. ? Executes data transfers and provides technical assistance for the District Accounting and Human Resources systems. ? Manages the technical integration and automated reporting for third-party systems, such as data warehouses, online assessments, or educational cloud services. ? Compiles, formats, and submits required data for NJ State, Federal, and other mandated student and staff reporting. ? Completes data-related projects and information gathering as assigned by the Director of Technology. ? Supports the Registrar's Office and other departments in the technical use of the district SIS, ensuring data entry aligns with established district protocols. ? Acts as a technical liaison within the Department of Technology to ensure seamless data flow and information sharing across the organization. ? Maintains responsiveness to shifting technical priorities and reacts positively to unanticipated redirections or tasks. ? Provides technical specifications and recommendations regarding the purchase of software, computers, and related equipment. ? Assists in instructing staff on the technical use of SIS modules, productivity applications, and curriculum-specific software. ? Participates in mandated training and staff-development programs to stay current with emerging data management trends. ? Provides high-quality customer service while collaborating with both technical and non-technical staff members. ? Travels between school facilities as required to perform technical duties. ? Performs all other duties within the scope of employment as assigned by the Director of Technology or Superintendent Other Job Functions: ? Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the Superintendent. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time – 12 Months EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with state law and provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of non-certified staff.
