Position Title Student Success Navigator, Early Childhood Education Apprenticeships Requisition Number SCA00899 General Description The Student Success Navigator is responsible for providing recruitment and participant support for Community College of Philadelphia’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) Programs, including our Learn and Earn Apprenticeship Pathway and our Child Development Associate courses. The Learn and Earn Early Childhood Education (ECE) Apprenticeship is designed as a Career Pathway option for early childhood educators to transition from a CDA to an associate degree (AA) while working in an early childhood classroom. Apprentices in this program participate in a combination of credit-bearing on- the-job learning, classroom instruction, and mentorship, and receive credit for prior learning. The Child Development Associate CDA) certification is a credential that recognizes early childhood educators. It’s considered the most widely recognized credential in the field.Reporting to the Director, Apprenticeships & School-to-Work Programs in the Division of Strategic Initiatives and Community Engagement (SICE), the Student Success Navigator also works closely on a team with staff and faculty in the College’s Education Department to support the College’s expanded role in the ECE Apprenticeship. The Student Success Navigator supports recruitment and enrollment of new students into our ECE pathways, in addition to supporting student success from initial interest through a student’s time of completion of the apprenticeship and securing of employment and/or further education and training. Specific Responsibilities Oversee recruitment, selection, and all registration and application processes of new Apprentices for the ECE Apprenticeship and candidates for Child Development Associate Program. Serve as primary point of contact to support students in navigating all onboarding procedures, including assessment tests, funding requirements such as PHMC Eligibility Processes and TEACH Scholarship applications for all students in apprenticeship cohorts and CDA course. Act as primary point of contact for external partners that are essential to ensuring student success (i.e., PHMC and FirstUp). In collaboration with Success Coach, ECE Apprenticeship, assist with workshops on financial literacy, tuition, TEACH forms, etc. to all students in Apprenticeship cohorts. Build relationships with and advocate for students, helping them successfully navigate the College systems, connecting to resources, and identifying or providing supports as needed. In collaboration with Success Coach and Director, Apprenticeships & School-to-Work Programs, oversee necessary data collection— prepare written reports on pertinent data for internal and external partners when required.
