Company Description Step One is a licensed outpatient program by OASAS and OMH, dedicated to providing comprehensive treatment for individuals managing Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health Disorders, along with support for their families. With a focus on compassionate care, the organization offers a wide range of evidence-based treatment options. Step One aims to foster recovery and improved quality of life for individuals and families within the community. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in Kingston, NY, for a Substance Use Treatment Counselor. The counselor will provide individual and group therapy, develop treatment plans, conduct assessments, and offer crisis intervention services. They will monitor client progress, collaborate with other care providers, maintain detailed records per regulatory standards, and deliver education on substance use and mental health issues to clients and families. Qualifications Counseling, therapeutic support, and client assessment skills Proficiency in developing treatment plans and facilitating individual and group therapy Knowledge of substance use and mental health disorders, including evidence-based treatments Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills Organizational and time management skills to maintain accurate records and coordinate care Familiarity with OASAS and OMH regulations is a plus Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field required Licensure (e.g., LMSW, LMFT, LMHC, CASAC) or eligibility to obtain licensure preferred Commitment to supporting diverse populations and working collaboratively in a team environment
