Job Summary A certificated person who provides psychological services to students in any District school. These services include psycho-educational assessment and diagnosis of specific learning, emotional, and behavioral disabilities including, but not limited to, case study evaluation, recommendations for remediation or placement, or other pertinent psychoeducational interventions, and periodic reevaluation of such students, as well as individual and small group counseling for designated students. Job Description / Essential Elements: FALLBROOK UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: DISTRICT PSYCHOLOGIST (DESIGNATED INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES: COUNSELING) DEFINITION: A certificated person who provides psychological counseling services as requested. These services primarily include counseling emotionally disturbed students with emotional and behavioral disabilities including case study evaluation, recommendations or other pertinent psycho educational interventions, and periodic reevaluation of such students. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Provides psychological counseling and other techniques with children and parents, as a DIS service. Provide ongoing counseling to students and crisis intervention assistance to emotionally disturbed students. Develops behavior plans and functional analyses for emotionally disturbed students. Provides a written report of evaluations, including recommendation for change of placement in any particular program, and also specific suggestions to the school personnel working directly with the student. Attends the IEP meetings for emotionally disturbed special education students.
