We are in search of Sports Coaches for our 2026 Summer Camp! Date: June 15 – August 07 Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Monday to Friday Location: Enlighten Enrichment School, 1921 Clarinda Way, San Jose, CA 95124 About our Summer Program Summer programs at Enlighten include a wide variety of academic and recreational offerings. Plan, prepare, and execute an organized and engaging daily set of lessons, drills, and games for the week. Always maintain the physical and emotional safety of the campers. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. · Proven experience/education in a particular sports area · Experience coaching/teaching children in the particular sport · Highly qualified motivator and communicator · Must be 18 years of age and have completed one year of college · Hold current certification in both first aid and CPR · Must have prior experience working with children Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Plan and conduct activities that promote camper self-esteem and encourage camper success. · Provide opportunities for each camper to meet the established goals of the camp. · Set a good example for campers and others including, punctuality, dress, language, and behavior. · Plan and instruct age and skill-appropriate activities in various areas, for group and special interest activities. · Maintain the equipment used in their activities and assure its safe storage. · Assist in the setup of camp before opening day and in the breakdown of camp on closing day. · Plan for the safe operation of the camp and the safety of all participants · Work independently, with the support of program directors to meet the established goals of the class. · Maintain equipment and facilities related to individual sports. Knowledge, Skill & Ability Requirements · Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels), and provide necessary direction and instruction to campers. · Ability to communicate and train campers in safety regulations and emergency procedures. · Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques. · Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the position. · Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid and emergency responses. · Cognitive and communication abilities to plan and conduct the activity to achieve camper development objectives. Working Conditions · May be subject to extended periods of time standing or walking. · The majority of time may be spent outside resulting in exposure to extremes in either heat or cold as weather and temperatures vary. · Lift equipment/supplies weighing 20 pounds. · Stand up and reach, and bend down to interact with children. · No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions. · Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid and emergency responses. · Cognitive and communication abilities to safely supervise and manage students while at play. Job Type: Part-time Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour Work Location: In person
