Goat Yoga RVA at Pactamere Farm – Glen Allen, VA $15.50–$20/hour | Seasonal, Full-Time | On-Site Goat Yoga RVA at Pactamere Farm is seeking a passionate, energetic Summer Camp Counselor to join our team for the summer season. This full-time, on-site role offers a unique opportunity to work on a family-owned farm while helping create unforgettable experiences for children. As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will play a key role in leading daily camp activities, supporting camper growth and creativity, and ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment. Our camps combine hands-on farm experiences, creative programming, and outdoor play — including our signature goat interactions — making this position ideal for individuals who love working with children and nature. We offer a competitive hourly wage of $15.50–$20.00, depending on experience, along with opportunities for professional growth in a supportive, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Supervise and actively engage campers in daily activities, including farm-based programs and goat-related experiences Create a positive, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all campers Plan and facilitate age-appropriate creative, educational, and outdoor activities Ensure the safety, well-being, and supervision of campers at all times Communicate clearly and professionally with campers, families, and staff Assist with organizing camp programs, special events, and daily schedules Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe camp environment Support campers’ social, emotional, and personal development Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older Experience working with children in a group or supervisory setting (camp, school, childcare, babysitting, coaching, etc.) Comfortable working outdoors in heat and varying weather conditions Comfortable working around farm animals (goats, alpacas, chickens, etc.) Ability to remain patient, calm, and positive in a fast-paced environment Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills Ability to follow safety procedures and enforce rules consistently Willingness to assist with daily farm tasks, setup, and cleanup Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods Preferred (But Not Required) Coursework or background in education, child development, social work, or psychology Experience leading activities, crafts, or group games CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Previous summer camp or outdoor education experience Comfort leading small groups independently Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to lift 25–30 lbs Ability to work long days outdoors Comfort with dirt, noise, animals, and physical activity Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and camper needs Schedule & Commitment Seasonal summer position (June–August) Required availability for pre-camp training Consistent weekday availability required Time-off requests must be submitted in advance Personal Qualities We’re Looking For Warm, energetic, and engaging with children Responsible and safety-focused Flexible and willing to help where needed Positive role model for campers Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
