Job Description:Does working in a spectacular park setting for an exciting summer day camp excite you? If so, our Camp Counselor assignment may be the perfect fit for you.We offer a dynamic Summer Day Camp that strives on providing amazing experiences to engage youth with nature.From arts and crafts to kayaking and fishing, this position will be responsible for holding the standard of our parks high to achieve our Parks' goal of being the most dynamic park system in the nation.Position Overview At an entry level, facilitates a wide array of summer camp duties while ensuring the safety of participants.This position receives instruction and guidance from the Summer Camp Director, and more experienced colleagues.Assists, directly or indirectly based on experience, with the oversight of recreational Summer Camp activities including hiking, fishing, kayaking, archery, and more.Assists directly with classroom based activities for Summer Camp.Assists in the development of activities and updates programs as necessary.Prepares, organizes and cleans up activity sites.Provides supervision of Summer Camp participants.Follows Summer Camp and safety rules.Observes necessary precautions to secure the safety of Summer Camp participants.This general overview only includes essential functions of the job and does not imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.Employees will be required to follow any other job-related instruction and to perform any other job-related duties requested by supervisor or management.Qualifications:Driver's license, experience in outdoor activities Work Environment:Work hours are primarily spent in an indoor/ outdoor environment.Some work hours are spent within park buildings and facilities.Some work hours are spent in a rugged outdoor environment including traversing rugged natural terrain.Work involves exposure to natural hazards such as fire ants, snakes, wasps and other stinging insects and other wildlife Physical Demands:Work involves frequent finger/hand manipulation in using hand tools and operating equipment.Work involves frequent climbing, crawling, crouching or other non-sitting positions in climbing ladders, event set up/take down, leading, instructing.Work involves occasional standing and/or walking including significant distances including traversing rugged and uneven natural terrain.Work involves occasional lifting up to 30 pounds from the floor to the waist.This job is a temporary position with a third-party staffing agency.Job Types:Contract, Temporary, Full-time Salary:$16.00 per hour Schedule:8 hour shift Monday to Friday Holidays Training starts mid-May.Summer Camp begins June 8th, 2026 and ends July 24th, 2026 with the possibility of extending the contract into a community programming role.Ability to commute/relocate:Kingsland, TX 78639:Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location:In person Job Types:Full-time, Contract, Temporary Job Types:Full-time, Contract, Temporary Pay:$16.00 per hour Ability to Commute:Kingsland, TX 78639 (Required) Work Location:In person.
