APPLY HERE - https://app.smartsuite.com/form/syemzx5o/fyl5AX62Xj Basic functions and scope of the job: To provide trauma competent care to children ages 5-17 during Camp Hope. To provide a safe and nurturing environment for both children and other staff to facilitate healing and maintain deescalation. Work performed: Duties Set up play space, stations, food/snacks, etc. prior to the start of the day Facilitate games, arts/crafts, outdoor play, and indoor play in a safe and controlled environment. Assist with meals for children, both serving and eating, if applicable. Establish and maintain control of the environment in order to ensure safety of both the children and other staff. Coordinate with other caregivers as needed to map out activity plans and/or child coverage. Document program progress, services provided/needed, and participant data with coordination with other staff members. Reply in a timely manner to all email, phone or text correspondence. Participate in training and trauma competency checklist. Other duties, as assigned Frequency As registered based on Camp Hope Sessions. 6/4/26-7/31/26 1 session is M-F from 8:30-5:00pm. (Minimum requirement of 2 consecutive weeks) Education and training required: High school diploma/GED Years of childcare experience (preferred): 3-5 Decision-making authority : All safety decisions onsite will be made by senior caregivers present. All escalated safety concerns or sustained safety concerns will be discussed with Program Director and decisions moving forward will be made in a collaborative effort. All modification to behavior plans will be made in collaboration with the parent, executive director and senior caregiver. All changes in supervision will be made by the Program Director. Physical effort: Operates no tools, machines or equipment. Light lifting to hold or transfer children as needed. Work conditions : Mostly outside Heat Other preferred requirements: Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, manage multiple tasks effectively, and work as a collaborative team member and leader. Knowledge of trauma and its effects on young children, families, and caregivers, as well as an understanding of how to support caring and responsive caregiving practices for children who are affected by trauma. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to articulate ideas verbally and in writing with a wide variety of audiences as a facilitator or presenter Experience, and ability to use technology to communicate and carry out job responsibilities. Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour Work Location: In person
