Job Description

Daily start/end times will be aligned to the crew the position will work under and remain consistent all summer. Shift hours will fall between 6:00 am and 4:30 pm and weekly schedules could either be four 10 hour shifts, five 8 hour shifts, or four 9 hours/one 4 hour shift – weekly schedules will be confirmed upon hire.Hours are turned in as you work them with monthly pay June through September for hours turned in each payroll cycle. Any pre-planned days off will need to be requested and negotiated during the hiring process. Summer Gardeners will accrue Washington State I-1433 sick leave at the rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked.40 Hours Per WeekTemporary Role through: August 31, 2026Daily Start/End times: TBDAnticipated Start Date: June 1, 2026Benefits--Medical/Dental/Vision through SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) are provided for employees who work at least 630 hours per academic year.Additional benefits may include vacation, sick, personal days, and paid holidays.Often, positions have additional pay provisions above what is represented on the salary schedule, all in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreements (if applicable) as negotiated.SALARY: LEVEL 7 on the Custodial/Grounds/Warehouse Salary Schedule. DOWNLOAD SALARY SCHEDULE EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Work with hand tools to dig ditches, trenches, and other excavations.Maintain shrub beds, flower beds, lawns, and other required area.Assist in applying fertilizers, weed, and ground sprays as required.Remove, transfer, and lay sod as needed.Operate power tools and equipment including trucks, tractors, etc.Handle power equipment such as mowers, edgers, sod cutters, and pruning equipment.Perform routine maintenance work on grounds such as aerating, trimming, pruning, seeding as required.Perform in snow removal as assigned.Observe safety rules and regulations at all times.Perform related duties as requested by supervisor.
