Summer Program Director Schedule:40 hours per week/ IN PERSON/ STATEN ISLAND, NY Job Type:Seasonal, Non-Exempt, Hourly Pay Rate:$35 to $40 per hour Job Description:United Activities Unlimited, Inc.(UAU) is a Staten Island-based community organization providing youth development, education, and community support services.The Summer Program Director oversees Summer Rising, COMPASS, and SONYC programming, ensuring a safe, engaging, and well-managed environment for youth participants.This role is responsible for daily program operations, staff supervision, activity planning, compliance with DYCD and DOE requirements, and communication with families, school administration, and UAU leadership.REQUIRED JOB Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, or a related field required Minimum of two years of direct experience working with children under 13 years of age At least one year of supervisory experience in a childcare or related program setting Demonstrated experience managing programs with a similar structure and scope Experience developing and implementing curriculum and activity plans Ability to supervise staff, support participant well-being, and manage program operations Experience coordinating schedules, activities, and program logistics, including trips and special events Ability to manage budgets and monitor program expenditures Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems Knowledge of safety regulations, health standards, and program compliance requirements Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to work both indoors and outdoors based on program needs and weather conditions Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday May require prolonged standing and walking during program hours Ability to remain in a stationary position for portions of the day Ability to communicate clearly and exchange accurate information Ability to observe details at close range EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER United Activities Unlimited, Inc.is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).UAU is committed to creating an inclusive work environment and encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.Pay:$35.00 - $40.00 per hour Education:Bachelor's (Required) Experience:Childcare:2 years (Required) Location:Staten Island, NY 10314 (Required) Ability to Commute:Staten Island, NY 10314 (Required) Work Location:In person.
