Title: Summer Youth Staff DBM Classification: N/A Department: Community Education Salary Range: $14/hr Employee Group: Temporary/Seasonal Prepared Date: March, 2026 Reports to: Youth Enrichment Programs Manager FTE/ FLSA Status: Hours Range-Non-Exempt SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES A School Summer Youth Staff member plays a vital role in organizing, supervising, and facilitating summer programs, activities, and events for children and teens in a school or community setting. They help create a safe, engaging, and positive environment by assisting in the planning and execution of educational, recreational, and enrichment activities. Responsibilities include supervising participants, leading group activities, ensuring adherence to program rules, and fostering positive interactions among students. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Meet with Youth Enrichment Programs Manager or Youth Enrichment Coordinator daily before the start of the shift Follow all District, program and building health and safety procedures Maintain confidentiality and privacy of children and families. Be a positive role model and leader to staff and students Lead recreation time with students after lunch. Other duties as assigned by the Youth Enrichment Programs Manager. Assist with lunch transition to the main gym. Care for program materials and resources.
