About the role We are looking for a Supervisor – Mobile Maintenance to lead a team responsible for maintaining and repairing critical mining equipment including electric shovels and rotary drills, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, on a balanced rotating shift roster and working collaboratively with operational and functional teams, you will be responsible for: Leading, coaching, and managing a team of maintenance tradespeople to deliver safe and reliable outcomes Promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture aligned to MSHA standards and Rio Tinto’s Zero Harm commitment Supervising and coordinating preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on mobile mining equipment including shovels and drills Allocating resources and sequencing work based on operational priorities, equipment availability, and workforce capability Ensuring high-quality execution of maintenance activities, minimizing downtime and improving asset reliability Working closely with planning and operations teams to align maintenance activities with production requirements Identifying, investigating, and resolving equipment and operational issues to improve performance outcomes Maintaining accurate records in maintenance systems and supporting continuous improvement initiatives About you A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within a mining or heavy industrial maintenance environment Strong experience maintaining heavy mobile equipment, including hydraulic and mechanical systems Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and respond effectively during breakdowns and shutdowns Knowledge of preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and asset management practices Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across maintenance and operations teams Ability to build an inclusive, respectful, and high-performing team culture Minimum high school diploma or GED; trade qualification preferred Valid driver’s license This role is open to candidates who are legally authorized to work in the United States. Where you'll be working Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter, and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum, and sulfuric acid. Kennecot
