Job Summary Job Description Overview The Supervisor -Parks Security supervises, schedules, supports, and monitors park rangers responsible for providing parks security and general operational efficiency for the department. Assigns and delegates locations and work requirements while monitoring compliance and assisting with security services. Essential Functions Supervises, supports, schedules, and monitors personnel monitoring and securing parks and public spaces within the City; determines and implements schedules and delegates work; monitors maintenance activities, reviews security breaches and incidents, and processes payroll. 2 Participates in special events, neighborhood meetings, and other meetings as requested; resolves personnel issues, provides performance feedback, and gives technical and professional direction. 3 Assists in the development and implementation of goals, and objectives for the department and the security personnel; communicates, trains, and educates staff on applicable policies and procedures to enhance the safety and operational efficiency. 4 Drafts and creates reports based on weekly and monthly activities and actions; provides operational statistics and analysis and works with upper management to enhance the parks security and operations. 5 Meets with staff and manager weekly to discuss information and directives; addresses operational deficiencies, misrepresentations, and other security issues; resolves operational problems and supervises staff use of resources. 6 Identifies and determines necessary purchases; completes orders for uniforms and critical supplies; accounts for and reviews purchases and tracks expenditures. 7 Communicates and oversees operational and maintenance compliance with environmental policies; ensures facilities and equipment are maintained per regulations and standards. 8 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned. Knowledge And Skills Knowledge of Parks Department 2 Knowledge of City ordinances and regulations related to parks. 3 Knowledge of citation issuances and authority. 4 Knowledge of personnel supervision, support, and feedback. 5 Ability to monitor parks operations and security through subordinate staff and park rangers. 6 Ability to apply and translate City ordinances, park rules, and PKR policies. 7 Ability to facilitate and develop budget and maintain accounting standards and ledgers. 8 Ability to provide customer service. 9 Ability to draft activity reports. 10 Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing. 11 Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Experience 5 years of administrative experience including work in parks and recreation with at least 1 years of lead experience. Licenses and Certifications A valid State of Texas driver's license Education High School Diploma, GED Salary Range $27.45 - $32.58 The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
