Job Description
Only candidates with direct, hands-on experience in both demand planning and purchasing within a CPG or consumer products environment will be considered. A growing consumer products company is hiring a Supply Chain Manager to own end-to-end supply chain execution across demand planning/S&OP, purchasing (domestic and overseas), and international inbound logistics. This role connects supply chain execution directly to business performance including service levels, inventory, working capital, and margin, while leading a small team. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-moving, trend-driven environment. The right candidate will bring structure, accountability, and visibility to supply chain operations while remaining highly responsive to changing demand and supply conditions. Application & Screening Requirements To be considered, candidates must clearly demonstrate: Direct ownership of demand planning and forecasting Hands-on experience with purchasing (domestic and overseas) Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring a team Working knowledge of international inbound logistics (ocean freight, brokers, tariffs/duty) Please note: This role requires direct, hands-on experience — not exposure only Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorship will be provided now or in the future What You Bring 5+ years of supply chain experience in consumer products, CPG, or a similar fast-paced environment Strong hands-on experience in both purchasing and demand planning Experience leading or supporting S&OP processes Working knowledge of international trade and inbound logistics (tariffs, duty, brokers, ocean freight) Proven ability to lead and develop a team while maintaining execution ownership Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel; experience with reporting tools preferred Ability to operate cross-functionally and influence decision-making Process-oriented with the ability to build structure and improve execution Preferred Experience in a manufacturer/wholesaler supporting retail or eCommerce channels ERP experience, including planning parameters and master data management APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) or Lean/Six Sigma exposure What You’ll Own End-to-end supply chain execution: planning, purchasing, inbound logistics, and inventory performance Monthly S&OP process, aligning demand, supply, and cross-functional priorities Forecast accuracy and demand planning discipline, including root-cause analysis and continuous improvement Purchasing execution across domestic and overseas vendors (lead times, MOQ, cost, on-time delivery) International inbound logistics, including ocean freight coordination, forwarders, brokers, and compliance Inventory health, balancing service levels, turns, and working capital KPI development and visibility (forecast accuracy, OTIF, inventory turns, supplier performance, freight cost) Process standardization and documentation to support scalable execution Supply chain readiness for new product launches Resolution of supply disruptions and demand variability with clear communication and execution Development and accountability of a small team What Success Looks Like Improved forecast accuracy and planning discipline Stronger service levels and earlier visibility into risks Healthier inventory with reduced stockouts and excess Predictable inbound logistics with clear shipment visibility Documented, repeatable processes across supply chain functions Clear KPIs with regular cross-functional review Successful execution of new product launches About the Opportunity This is a confidential search for a privately held consumer products company.
