Job Description
We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join a manufacturing organization in New Orleans, Louisiana in a Contract to permanent capacity. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented supply chain candidate with strong buying and procurement leadership experience who can guide purchasing strategy, improve material flow, and support operational efficiency. Responsibilities Lead purchasing and supply chain activities to ensure materials and services are available to support manufacturing schedules and business objectives. Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and monitor vendor performance to improve cost, quality, and delivery outcomes. Oversee purchase request and procurement processes, ensuring timely approvals, accurate documentation, and alignment with operational needs. Coordinate logistics and inventory planning to maintain efficient movement of goods across domestic and global supply chain channels. Analyze demand, spending patterns, and supply risks to strengthen planning decisions and support continuity of supply. Partner with cross-functional teams including operations, production, and finance to align procurement strategy with broader business priorities. Identify opportunities to improve supply chain processes, reporting, and overall efficiency within the manufacturing environment. Support team development and help establish a scalable procurement function as the organization continues to grow. Proven experience in supply chain management, procurement, or purchasing leadership within a manufacturing setting. Background in buyer or senior buyer roles with increasing responsibility across sourcing and supplier management activities. Strong knowledge of supply chain logistics, materials planning, and procurement workflow management. Experience handling purchase requests, negotiating with vendors, and managing supplier performance. Familiarity with global supply chain operations and the coordination of inbound and outbound logistics. Ability to interpret data, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple departments. Demonstrated leadership potential with an interest in developing and mentoring a growing team.
