Job Description
About Us: Spectrum Killian Dental Lab Alliance (SKDLA) is a nationally recognized leader in restorative dentistry, passionate about helping people smile with confidence. We partner with dental professionals across the country to deliver world-class restorations, advanced dental equipment, and trusted services that make a difference for patients every day. At SKDLA, we combine craftsmanship, cutting-edge technology, and a deep commitment to quality to create beautiful, lasting results. More than just a dental lab, we are driven by the belief that every restoration represents a person’s confidence, comfort, and well-being - and that’s a responsibility we take to heart. Our operations are centered around two advanced Centers of Excellence located in Orange County and Los Angeles. This collaborative environment allows our skilled technicians to innovate, mentor one another, and consistently deliver outstanding results. Overview: At Spectrum Killian, we’re looking for a Supply Chain & Strategic Sourcing Manager to own end-to-end procurement, vendor strategy, cost structure, and supply continuity across a multi-site, digitally enabled dental laboratory platform. This isn’t a transactional purchasing role—it’s a highly strategic leadership opportunity. At Spectrum Killian, this position operates as a strategic operator, commercial negotiator, and systems architect, accountable for ensuring the organization has the right materials, at the right cost, from the right partners—while protecting margin, production uptime, regulatory compliance, and clinical quality. This role also serves as the enterprise gatekeeper for material and equipment innovation—ensuring that supplier-led ideas, new technologies, and cost-reduction opportunities are evaluated through a disciplined, data-driven framework. By structuring sourcing and innovation discussions around reliability, quality, delivery, and return on investment, this position protects Operations from uncoordinated vendor experimentation while enabling the business to adopt new materials and technologies at scale. The role provides clear governance and visibility for leadership, signaling private-equity and board-level discipline in how innovation is assessed, tested, and deployed across the platform. What You’ll Be Responsible For: Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management Build and manage national supplier programs across zirconia, PMMA, implant components, resins, consumables, and capital equipment. Lead supplier RFPs, qualification, selection, and onboarding. Negotiate master pricing agreements, rebates, exclusivity programs, and service-level guarantees. Develop dual-source and redundancy strategies to mitigate supply risk. Outsourcing Strategy & Partner Management Own the outsourcing strategy and operating model across materials, components, and external manufacturing or service partners. Lead and develop the team responsible for managing outsourced partners, with accountability for capacity scalability, quality performance, cost competitiveness, and schedule adherence. Establish clear performance expectations, SLAs, scorecards, and governance routines for all outsourcing partners. Ensure outsourced capacity scales in alignment with demand forecasts and growth plans. Drive cost, quality, delivery, and reliability improvements across external partners through structured reviews and corrective actions. Partner with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to ensure outsourced processes meet clinical, regulatory, and operational requirements. Own escalation and resolution of outsourcing risks to protect production uptime and customer commitments. Cost Structure & Margin Protection Own material COGS performance and vendor-driven margin outcomes. Identify and execute cost-down initiatives, rebate optimization, and volume leverage opportunities. Partner with Finance to model standard costs, escalation risk, tariffs, and currency exposure. Inventory, Forecasting & Supply Continuity Build forecasting models by product family, case mix, and growth plan. Define safety stock policies and replenishment cadences by site. Ensure zero production downtime due to material shortages. Platform Scale & M&A Enablement Support onboarding and integration of newly acquired labs. Rapidly integrate vendors, SKUs, pricing, and inventory models post-acquisition. Standardize supplier programs while preserving clinical autonomy. Quality, Compliance & Traceability Partner with Quality and Regulatory to ensure
