Description About the Job Our Client is seeking a Survey Field Technician for an immediate opening in the Survey Department. This is a full-time position involving both field and office responsibilities. Projects include transportation surveys (roads and bridges), site development (topographic) surveys, boundary surveys, GPS work, and construction staking . Founded in 1964, Our Client is a multi-disciplinary, nationally recognized consulting engineering firm providing civil, surveying, transportation, electrical, mechanical, structural, and technology engineering services. The company's integrated engineering approach supports a wide range of projects including healthcare, sports and recreation, science and technology, higher education, high-rise buildings, and public agency infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Collect topographic field data using surveying equipment and software Interpret maps, drawings, plans, and aerial photographs to assess project requirements Assist with survey control recovery, monumentation, construction layout, and utility data collection Gather invert and subsurface utility information and perform photo documentation Apply surveying techniques and mathematical principles Maintain survey equipment and coordinate repairs when necessary Stay current with surveying practices, standards, and guidelines Research project documentation, including deeds and plats Perform office tasks such as data downloads and project binder setup Prepare drawings and maps using Carlson Survey, AutoCAD, and MicroStation Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Entry-level position (training provided); experience is a plus Associate's degree in Surveying or Engineering is a plus Valid driver's license with a good driving record Ability to learn quickly and perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions Experience with Topcon Data Collectors, robotic and GPS equipment is a plus Computer skills with Carlson Survey, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available) Benefits Medical and dental insurance (employee, spouse, and family) Life insurance and short-term/long-term disability insurance Supplemental life and vision insurance Paid vacation, sick leave, and eight paid holidays
