Position Summary This is a hands-on position, driving a garbage collection route 2-5 times per week. The ideal candidate will have an excellent driving record, strong computer skills, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency. Essential functions Demonstrate safe workplace practices, including regular use of PPE when required Drive regular collection routes (150-200 stops per day) Maintain cleanliness + organization of shop, office, and vehicles Report vehicle defects, make small repairs like lightbulb changes or tire inflation Maintain proper fluid levels and apply grease to vehicles on a regular schedule Safe driving record + willing/able to fill in for other sick/absent drivers Previous experience driving large vehicles Required education and qualifications Professional demeanor and well-groomed appearance Willingness to get dirty and work outdoors Ability to lift heavy items (75+ lbs) Must be the age of 21 or older High school diploma, GED, or HSED Reliable, on-time transportation Valid Wisconsin drivers license with clean driving record Compost Crusader provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
