PRIMARY FUNCTION : This position is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing commercial and residential electrical systems in all buildings and the surrounding property. You will be asked to design and install electrical systems. You will coordinate with other construction teams to install electrical systems at the proper time in the construction process. REPORTS TO :Senior Director of Maintenance Trades SALARY SCHEDULE : 107 WORK DAYS : 250 REQUIREMENTS: Education Level Required: High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution or Journeyman equivalent technical certifications or vocational licenses in Electrical trade Formal training as an electrician or similar / equivalent in years of journeyman level experience above 10 years in electrical field of study. Preferred: None Licenses, Certifications, and other Requirements Required: Must have a valid driver’s license Preferred: Valid Class B, CDL driver’s license State License: Electrical Experience, Skill, and Certification: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and the National Electrical Code. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Skilled in designing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment and systems. Ability to supervise and instruct technical personnel effectively. Competent in using electrical tools, repair equipment, and personal computers for diagnostics and documentation. Capable of collaborating with contractors and resolving installation challenges. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and maintain safety standards. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the duties herein Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility Diagnose and resolve electrical issues by installing or replacing components, wiring, and devices. Troubleshoot electrical circuits and systems across all voltage types using testing equipment and technical documentation. Install, maintain, and repair electrical panels, breakers, control systems, and lighting systems. Safely make cable and wiring connections, run conduit, and pull circuits. Maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, coordinating with manufacturers or field representatives as needed. Install and assemble electrical/electronic systems according to technical specifications and blueprints. Assist with reviewing electrical plans for construction and remodeling projects. Oversee inspections of contractor-performed work during renovations and new construction. Work collaboratively with vendors, engineers, contractors, and consultants on electrical projects. Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA regulations and company safety guidelines. Report violations of safety policies and procedures to the immediate supervisor. Recognize and respond to unsafe conditions, utilizing appropriate safety equipment and practices. Respond promptly to emergency calls, assess safety risks, and provide guidance to ensure the well-being of students and staff. Support the Director of Maintenance in achieving departmental goals and implementing strategic initiatives. Provide excellent customer service to foster a safe and comfortable learning environment. Train and direct personnel in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. Verify completion of work and ensure proper closure of work orders. Maintain inventory control of electrical components, tools, and equipment. Document installation and maintenance procedures for reference and compliance. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering instructions. Perform mathematical computations relevant to electrical trade work.
