Job Description
Overview Quantum Research International, Inc. (Quantum) is a certified DoD Contractor providing services and products to US/Allied governments and industry in the following main areas: (1) Cybersecurity, High Performance Computing Systems, Cloud Services and Systems; (2) Space and Ground Support Systems; (3) Aviation Systems; (4) Missile Systems; (5) Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning Systems and Experimentation/Training; and (6) Audio Visual Systems and Services. Mission Quantum Research is looking to staff a Systems Engineer Level 5 to support a Government program that delivers important technical solutions and products using emerging technologies for processing significantly large amounts of data. Program technical areas include commercial cloud technologies, high performance computing, and enterprise architecture. The program is tactically important to the National Security of the United States and the work on these missions are frequently recognized for their results. Our team is looking for the best talent who want to contribute to support our customer’s unique and mission-critical work. This is a growing, high-profile program. This position is onsite Annapolis Junction, MD. Telework and hybrid are not permitted Responsibilities Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of all components of complex hardware/software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and performing technical/non-technical assessment and management, as well as end-to-end flow analysis. The ideal candidate will be interested in executing legacy- to cloud-based transitions in a team environment. Apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems life-cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288. Technical Process Area - Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal; Project Process Area - Project Planning, Project Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement. Enterprise (Organizational Project-Enabling) Process Area – Project Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Management, Lifecycle Model Management, Human Resource Management, and Quality Management. Agreement Process Area - Acquisition and Supply. This position shall advise and assist the Customer Program/Project Managers in planning and executing systems engineering activities by following appropriate acquisition policies, processes, and practices. The individual shall ensure accuracy, completeness, and applicability of all inputs/advice and shall provide assistance in: Facilitating Integrated Process Teams (IPTs) to ensure effective collaboration. Providing testing support. Technical and acquisition system engineering and technical assistance support. Drafting system engineering and architecture diagrams. Requirements TS/SCI with full scope polygraph. A High School Diploma or GED plus nineteen (19) years of general systems engineering experience. OR A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus fifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience. OR A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.
