Tax Administrator LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Tax Administrator. The Tax Administrator is responsible for overseeing the assessment, billing, collection, and reporting of municipal taxes in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role ensures accurate tax records, timely collections, and responsive service to residents, businesses, and internal departments. This position is direct hire and will pay between $50K and $65K annually. Responsibilities Administered all local tax programs, including income, property-related, or other municipal taxes as applicable Processed tax returns, payments, refunds, adjustments, penalties, and interest Ensured timely billing and collection of taxes and followed up on delinquencies Maintained accurate taxpayer records and reconciled tax receivables Responded to taxpayer inquiries regarding assessments, filings, balances, and compliance requirements Prepared monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reports for internal management and governing bodies Coordinated with third-party collection agencies, auditors, and external taxing authorities Assisted with audits by preparing documentation and supporting schedules Interpreted and applied municipal tax ordinances and relevant state regulations Recommended process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance Qualifications Associate's degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or a related field preferred but not required 1-3 years of accounting experience Strong knowledge of tax regulations, accounting principles, and recordkeeping practices Proficiency with tax, accounting, or municipal financial software Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong attent
