Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic educational team as a Teacher Assistant and play a vital role in fostering an engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for children of diverse needs. This paid position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with lead teachers, support students with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs, and contribute to their academic and social growth. Ideal candidates are passionate about early childhood education, possess strong communication skills, and are eager to make a positive impact on young learners’ lives. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs, including those with disabilities or autism Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and facilitating a safe learning environment Help prepare and adapt lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and sensory activities Engage children in educational activities using techniques such as American Sign Language (ASL), Montessori methods, or other specialized approaches Provide hands-on care for toddlers and preschoolers, including early childhood development activities and childcare routines Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers regarding behavior management and learning milestones Support students during classroom transitions, lunch periods, and outdoor play to ensure safety and engagement Experience Prior classroom experience in early childhood education or special education settings is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management strategies Experience working with children with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a strong plus Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and literacy or math instruction for young learners Knowledge of Deaf education techniques and experience working with American Sign Language (ASL) is desirable Previous private school or Montessori classroom experience is advantageous Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff Join us in creating an inspiring educational environment where every child can thrive!
