Company OverviewMountain Lake Academy is an experiential-based program that works with 36 students in grades 7-12 at a year-round boarding school located in the High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains.Mountain Lake Academy provides a variety of experiential-based programming for boys in grades 7-12.These experiences include hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, skiing, snowshoeing, multi-day expeditions, and vocational programming.OverviewWe are seeking a passionate and energetic Teacher Assistant to join our dynamic team.In this role, you will work closely with teachers and students to create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes learning, development, and well-being.Your support will be essential in helping students with diverse needs thrive academically and socially within our structured yet caring setting.Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans tailored to individual student needs Support students with special education requirements and working with individuals with disabilities Help manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management strategies Provide hands-on care for children, including preschoolers and toddlers, ensuring their safety and engagement Support early childhood education activities focused on childhood development and social skills Aid in classroom organization, including preparing materials and maintaining a clean learning environment Participate in classroom management and caregiving tasks such as supervising activities, assisting with diapering or toileting, and supporting infant care when needed Qualifications Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or classroom settings is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education environments is desirable Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team Demonstrated caregiving skills including nannying or babysitting experience preferred Passion for working with children and supporting their growth through engaging activities and positive reinforcement Mountain Lake Academy is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.Pay:$19.75 - $24.75 per hour Benefits:401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Work Location:In person.
