Primary Role NYOS Secondary is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Business Principles and Interpersonal Studies CTE Teacher to provide engaging instruction aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and Career and Technical Education standards. The ideal candidate will foster a positive classroom culture, prepare students for college and career readiness, and support the academic, social, and emotional growth of all learners. The teacher will create rigorous and relevant learning experiences that develop communication, leadership, professionalism, financial literacy, and workplace readiness skills. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Valid Texas teaching certification or enrollment in an approved Texas alternative certification program. Ability to obtain or hold appropriate CTE certification requirements for assigned courses. Knowledge of TEKS, instructional best practices, and classroom management strategies. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Essential Functions Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned to TEKS and NYOS instructional expectations. Deliver high-quality instruction in Business Principles and Interpersonal Studies courses. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and behavioral needs of students. Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction. Maintain accurate gradebooks, attendance records, and student performance documentation. Integrate career readiness, employability skills, and real-world applications into instruction. Participate in curriculum development and vertical alignment discussions. Student Support and Compliance Implement accommodations and modifications required by student IEPs, 504 plans, and other state-mandated supports. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws regarding special populations and student services. Collaborate with special education staff, counselors, administrators, and families to support student success. Maintain appropriate classroom management and restorative discipline practices consistent with campus expectations.
