About the role We’re seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Aboriginal Cultural Arts students by joining our team of teachers on a permanent part-time (0.5 FTE – 17.5 hours per week) basis, located at Eora Campus, Redfern. In this role you will deliver educational programs and facilitate learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. Proudly teach the rich history of Aboriginal Australia and cultural identity through the use of cultural arts practices and your own personal connection to Aboriginal culture and communities. Lead students through collaborative community art projects, creating their portfolio of work and building a strong foundation to continue their art journey. To find out more about the role, click to view the Role Description Essential Requirements: Aboriginality (Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act of 1977). Candidates selected for an interview must provide Confirmation of Aboriginality documentation at or before interview. Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications with a minimum level of Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts, Certificate IV in Design (Painting and Drawing) or Diploma in Visual Arts or equivalent experience. Current arts practice and active participation in the Arts’ industry in the last three (3) years. Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (see the candidate support document ( here ) for details) OR a willingness to undertake our full time 14 week 'Paid to Learn' course. Have a minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience relevant to your industry, gained no longer than five (5) years previously. Highly regarded but not essential: Digital skills and experience with Adobe Suite e.g. Photoshop Applicants for this position must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, identify as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and be accepted in the community as such.
