Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. This contract opportunity, located near Toccoa, GA, offers a chance to provide specialized support for learners with hearing impairments in a collaborative and inclusive educational setting. Key Qualifications Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Experience and comfort working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across various grade levels. Strong skills in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and utilizing various communication methods. Commitment to creating accessible and engaging lesson plans. Ability to adapt materials and strategies to meet individual student needs. Primary Responsibilities Deliver direct instructional services to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students for approximately 10 hours per week. Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to support students in both self-contained and inclusive settings. Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure best practices and student advocacy.
