Job Description
Technical Designer Pretty Garbage is a fast-paced women’s wholesale fashion brand based in Los Angeles. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Designer to join our growing team. This role works closely with design, production, and overseas vendors to ensure the fit, construction, quality, and overall execution of all products align with the brand vision. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and experienced in managing technical development from proto stage through production. Responsibilities Lead fit sessions and communicate fit corrections with clear comments, measurements, and detailed photos Prepare, measure, and evaluate garments to ensure accuracy of specs, construction, fit, and overall execution Create and maintain technical packages including flat specs, grading, construction details, and garment workmanship standards Partner closely with design team to execute design intent while maintaining fit consistency and production feasibility Communicate daily with overseas vendors regarding fit approvals, corrections, construction, and technical questions Analyze garments for potential quality, costing, and production issues and provide practical solutions Track and manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ensure consistency in fit, measurement standards, and garment construction across categories Review samples throughout development stages including proto, fit, PPS, TOP, and production samples Collaborate cross-functionally with design, production, and sales teams to support seasonal development timelines Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in technical design, pattern making, and vendor communication Strong understanding of garment construction, body fit, ease, grading, fabric behavior, trims, and sewing techniques Experience conducting and leading fit sessions independently Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines Detail-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, and technical design documentation Experience working with overseas factories and production timelines Bilingual in Korean preferred Job Details Full-time On-site in Los Angeles, CA Pay: From $70,000.00 per year Benefits Employee discount Health insurance Paid time off Work Location: In person
