Technical Manager

Technical Manager – Fiber Laser (R&D) Technical Manager needed to lead the Fiber Laser group following the promotion of Jeff Nicholson. This role combines team leadership with hands-on technical work in a highly R&D-focused environment. What you’ll do Lead the fiber laser R&D team and set technical direction Own end-to-end development: design, build, test, and analysis Drive experimental design, measurement strategy, and data interpretation Execute and guide research programs from concept through validation Collaborate across teams and mentor engineers while staying technically involved What we’re looking for 8–15 years of experience with high-power fiber lasers or optical systems Strong background in hands-on testing, measurement, and analysis Proven ability to lead and execute research programs Prior team leadership or mentorship experience Education PhD preferred with publications and applied research experience MS considered with strong relevant industry experience This role is best suited for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working in the lab, and leading from the front in an R&D setting.
