Job Description
About PremiumIQ PremiumIQ specializes in data analytics for the insurance industry. They help their clients leverage data and advanced analytics to reduce loss ratios, increase revenue, improve claim processing efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. They provide technical leadership to help insurance companies develop future-proof data solutions and elevate their technology teams. Their solutions are adaptable and continuously improving, enabling self-service at scale on all types of data, whether it's big data, structured data, or unstructured data. Their singular focus on insurance data analytics enables them to bring unparalleled expertise and value to their clients. The Role As a Technical Program Manager, you will own end-to-end delivery of complex data and analytics programs at insurance industry clients. You are a caretaker — of your client, your team, and this firm. You take care of the client by understanding their business deeply and delivering outcomes they can point to. You take care of your team by listening, clearing blockers, and helping people do their best work. You take care of the firm by building its reputation, its methodology, and its institutional knowledge one engagement at a time. This is not a coordination role. You will be embedded in the technical detail — translating between business stakeholders and engineering teams, designing program structures that make complex work executable, making delivery decisions with confidence, and driving programs through the obstacles that always arise. What You'll Get To Do Program Planning and Delivery Define program phasing, program organization, swim lanes, stages and gates, roles and responsibilities, and governance models before the Programs begin Direct all program activities across the full lifecycle — scope definition, requirements gathering, data integration design, software development, testing, and deployment Own program governance — run steering committee meetings, produce executive status reports, facilitate working sessions, and ensure the right stakeholders are engaged at the right altitude Oversee activities with third-party technology partners — such as Snowflake, dbt, implementation partners, and client-side vendors — holding them to the same delivery standards as the PIQ team Own end-to-end delivery of multi-workstream data programs across data engineering, API and ETL integration, business intelligence, cloud architecture, actuarial analytics, and enterprise data governance Define and maintain program plans, milestone tracker, resource plan, RAID log, and budget tracker Identify and proactively mitigate internal and external program risks — surface issues before they become crises, escalate with a point of view, not just a problem Drive resolution of program issues — own the path to resolution, not just the communication of the issue Assess and report on program health against defined benchmarks and identify areas of improvement in real time, not retrospectively Lead change management planning and execution on engagements where organizational adoption is a program workstream — stakeholder impact assessments, communication plans, training coordination, adoption measurement Client Relationship Management Serve as the PIQ presence in day-to-day client interactions — the person the client calls when something needs to be resolved, not just the person who schedules the call Build trusted relationships with senior executives, data owners, program sponsors, and operational stakeholders across complex insurance organizations Navigate organizational complexity — understand the political landscape, identify where decisions actually get made, and manage accordingly Influence and drive decisions in cross-functional client environments — you bring people to alignment, not just to a meeting Technical/Industry Domain Knowledge Bring enough technical depth to credibly lead data engineers, integration architects, BI developers, and actuarial modelers — not to do their work but to understand it, challenge it, and explain it to the client Work confidently across the Modern Data Platform tech stack — Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Python, SQL, Power BI, etc— and across integration patterns including REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and ETL/ELT pipelines Understand the insurance domain enough to contextualize every technical decision in business terms — loss reserving, underwriting data, policy and claims systems, actuarial workflows, regulatory reporting Firm Contribution Define best practices for Program Management
