Job Title: Construction Manager Job Type: 1099 Location: MUST LIVE IN OR WITHIN ONE HOUR OF THE FOLLOWING CITIES: Cleveland, OH; Detroit, MI; Minneapolis, MN Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented construction manager to perform site surveys and daily oversight of sub-contractors performing telecommunications installations for MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) properties and donor towers. Site surveys will require access to MDUs and documenting information about the building that will determine build requirements. The installations will involve ordering materials, mounting rooftop radio antennas, running Ethernet and coax cables, and installing and turning up telecommunications equipment at various MDU locations. Build quality checks for each site will also be required. Computer experience will be required to access databases and perform configurations and integrations. Safety training will be provided and required for the job. Key Responsibilities: Conduct detailed site surveys to access building physical layout, condition, cable type and line of site from MDU to serving wireless donor (tower or building). Daily MDU and Tower construction oversite and activities Collect and document all survey information for communication and direction with engineering teams. Ensure all materials and tools are inventoried and prepared for each installation job. Ability to install wireless radio equipment on roof tops along with associated cabling will be required. Access will be with ladders, mechanical lifts, or via roof top hatches or doors depending on the MDU type. Coordination of sub-contractors, including job scheduling, material ordering, and quality control. Training of new subcontractors on MDU and Donor / Tower build requirements. Use of construction tools such as ladders, saws, drills, cable crimpers, and other hand tools will be required as well as use of a company provided laptop computer and signal testing devices. Prepare and submit comprehensive job reports. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies during on-site activities. Maintain clear, effective, and professional communication with property managers, tenants, and internal teams. This position requires daily travel to the job sites with a company-provided vehicle. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a technical field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in field installation, operations, telecommunications, CATV, or a related technical field. Previous construction experience, crew management, and electrical apprentice experience is highly desired. Knowledge of fixed wireless and cable technologies is a plus. Experience with site survey tools, cable installation tools and equipment. Ability to read and interpret building schematics and architectural drawings. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Must be able to use laptop computer with MS office tools. Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Able to travel to various sites as needed. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Able to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods. Work Environment: Fieldwork will be conducted in various MDU settings, which will include both indoor and outdoor environments.
