Responsibilities This recruitment is for a Temporary Building Maintenance Worker position through UCI's internal temporary staffing department. This is for temporary positions within the housing units for our Summer Housing Project, which is expected to run from June through October (exact dates to be determined). As this is a special project, pay rates have been increased for the duration of the project only (see compensation information below). Job Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To Perform general maintenance and repair work including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and preventive maintenance projects. Repair and replace plumbing fixtures such as faucets, sinks, toilets, garbage disposals, and piping systems. Troubleshoot and complete basic electrical repairs involving lighting, outlets, switches, fans, appliances, and fixtures. Clear drain and sink stoppages using hand tools, electrical snakes, plungers, and approved cleaning solutions. Collaborate with maintenance staff and assist with additional facility maintenance projects as assigned. Qualifications Required: Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English. Demonstrated ability to perform semi-skilled building maintenance work. One year experience as a Building Maintenance Worker, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years expereince with minor repairs, fabrication, and renovations in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
