Job Description
The Territory Manager (TM) is a sales-driven role responsible for building and growing strong relationships with builders and key decision-makers within their assigned market. The TM secures, expands, and maintains new and existing scopes of work across the company's full portfolio of interior and exterior finish solutions, including flooring, countertops, cabinets, lighting, window coverings, stairs, doors, trim, and appliances. The TM actively identifies new business opportunities by staying current on local market trends, emerging customers, and competitive activity, and by positioning the company as a trusted, full-scope partner for builders. The TM partners with internal credit and accounting teams to ensure receivables are actively managed within their territory. This includes maintaining visibility into account status, supporting timely collections through customer communication, and helping resolve issues that may impact payment. The TM works closely with field supervision and installation teams to ensure alignment, effective communication, and a strong customer experience, while maintaining primary accountability for sales growth, scope expansion, long-term relationship development, and overall account health. OVERVIEW OF YOUR DAILY TASKS: Track your progress against goals and adjust tactics to maintain pipeline velocity and territory growth. Proactively build and maintain relationships through regular face-to-face meetings and site visits, positioning yourself as a preferred partner for interior finishes solutions across your territory. Prospect: generate new opportunities Act as a primary point of contact for clients, resolving issues and maintaining positive relationships. Work cross-functionally with operations and field teams to address and resolve urgent issues such as project delays, customer concerns, and safety incidents in a timely manner. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE TO HELP YOU SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Proven territory sales success (B2B): Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals in a defined geographic territory, ideally within construction services, flooring, building materials, or trade contracting. Relationship-driven selling: Ability to build trust quickly with builders, general contractors, property managers, and purchasing teams; skilled at managing multiple stakeholders and decision-makers. Construction fluency: Working knowledge of construction workflows, jobsite realities, and scheduling constraints (takeoffs, scope reviews, change orders, punch lists, warranty items, and field coordination). High-impact communication: Clear, confident presenter who can tailor messaging to field leaders, PMs, purchasing, and executives; strong written follow-up and customer-facing professionalism. Territory presence and activity: Willing to be in the field, customer visits, site walks, local networking events consistently building market visibility and lead flow.
