Texas-Licensed Litigation Attorney (Engagement Position) Latitude Legal is seeking a mid- to senior-level Litigation Attorney (5+ years of experience) to immediately join the litigation practice group of a boutique Texas–based law firm on a full-time engagement basis (approximately 40 hours per week). This is a hybrid opportunity in the Houston area, requiring 3-4 days in office, currently expected to last at least 12 months. The role is well suited for an attorney who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to meaningful litigation matters. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of matters independently, possess strong writing skills, and have substantial experience with litigation and tort law. Responsibilities will include running depositions, writing briefs, and handling full cycle complex litigation matters, while collaborating with a highly experienced litigation team. Preferred candidates will have prior experience in the litigation space, either in-house or within a full-service law firm. Basic Requirements For The Litigation Attorney 5+ years of experience practicing litigation either in-house or in a full-service law firm Preference for candidates with experience writing briefs and running depositions Skilled at in-depth research and ability to understand and interpret complex issues with minimal supervision Excellent academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school Excellent analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills Licensed and in good standing in the state of Texas Outstanding professional references Position Details Of The Litigation Attorney Type of role: Contract Attorney Schedule: 40 hrs/week Location: Hybrid – Houston, TX Compensation Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $170,000 to $250,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position). Benefits: In addition to pay, all Latitude attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage for work or acts or omissions provided within the scope of a Latitude-authorized engagement. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
