Job Description
Therapist - Trauma-Informed Care for Children and Adolescents If you believe therapy should change livesnot just check boxesthis role is for you. Job Summary The Therapist provides trauma-informed therapy and case management services to children and adolescents served in residential and/or acute programs. This role works closely with hospital liaisons, schools, mental health centers, families, and community partners to ensure coordinated care and individualized treatment for each client. Key Responsibilities Provide individual, family, and group therapy for children and adolescents Deliver trauma-informed case management services Participate in a multidisciplinary treatment team Complete intake assessments, treatment plans, and discharge summaries Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency policies Maintain comprehensive knowledge of each youths history, treatment plan, and discharge plan Be available for consultation on a 24/7 on-call basis as required Collaborate with schools, hospitals, guardians, MCOs, and community partners Facilitate treatment review meetings with guardians and service providers Provide crisis intervention using approved tools and techniques Participate in utilization review and communication with insurance providers when needed Maintain compliance with state, federal, licensure, and accrediting standards Maintain an up-to-date employee profile in KVCs HRIS system Promote a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for youth Additional duties may be assigned based on program development and staff qualifications. Professional Expectations Demonstrate respect for colleagues, families, and community stakeholders regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, or ethnicity Serve as a positive role model for youth and families Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all organizational policies and procedures Collaborate effectively with team members and community partners Minimum Requirements Age Requirement All employees must be at least 21 years of age Education Masters Degree in Social Work, Family Therapy, Counseling, or related behavioral health field from an accredited institution Licensure Must hold or be eligible for professional licensure in the state(s) where services are provided, including one of the following: LMSW, LSW, LSCSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT, LCMFT, or other equivalent state-recognized clinical license Additional Requirements Valid drivers license and auto insurance Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook Experience and Skills Minimum of one year of supervised experience providing therapy to children and/or adolescents Experience delivering individual, family, and group counseling Coursework in child and adolescent development Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices Strong clinical documentation and communication skills Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams Physical Requirements The physical demands listed below represent those required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
