Therapy - PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition. Establishes, revises, and evaluates a plan of care appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family. Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient. Oversees activities of physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. The complexity of work requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. The clinician is expected to work with neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, and oncological conditions as well as general medical. The clinician will engage regularly with the interdisciplinary team. The rehab department consists of a large team of associates including occupational therapy and speech therapy. The team collaborates daily, providing real-time documentation and point of service care. Training will be provided by the team to prepare the traveler for clinical responsibilities.
