Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Town Clerk/Treasurer to serve as a vital leader within our local government. Responsibilities Manage all municipal records, including filing, document retention, and official correspondence to ensure accuracy and accessibility. Oversee budgeting processes, monitor expenditures, and prepare financial reports to maintain fiscal responsibility. Handle accounts payable and receivable using accounting software, process payroll accurately and on time. Plan and coordinate community events, public meetings, and civic activities to foster community engagement. Manage vendor relationships for supplies, services, and facility maintenance while ensuring compliance with procurement policies. Supervise human resources functions including employee onboarding, training & development, and maintaining personnel records. Oversee front desk operations ensuring excellent phone etiquette, courteous customer service, and efficient visitor handling. Maintain accurate financial records through bookkeeping practices; prepare reports for town meetings and audits. Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to municipal governance and public records. Qualifications Proven experience in office management or administrative roles within a government or similar organization. Strong supervisory experience leading teams in busy office environments. Proficiency in accounting software; excellent bookkeeping skills. Experience with budgeting, payroll processing, vendor management, and financial reporting. Skilled in event planning, calendar management, filing systems, and general clerical duties. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and exceptional organizational abilities. Background in human resources or medical office management is a plus but not required. Familiarity with front desk operations, and office technology tools. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
